2027: Taraba gov, Tompolo rally support for Tinubu’s re-election

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas and High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, have rallied support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement made available to PUNCH Online on Saturday, the call was made during the launch of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement’s grassroots mobilisation campaign in Jalingo, Taraba State.

Tompolo, who is the Grand Patron of the movement, was represented at the event by High Chief Kestin Pondi.

He said the reforms of the Tinubu administration needed more time to consolidate and deliver their expected benefits, urging supporters to take the campaign to homes, religious centres, wards, local government areas and polling units.

“Every policy needs time to consolidate; every policy needs time to show dividends. Every policy reformation will always come with its own challenges,” Tompolo said.

He also said Taraba was benefiting from the policies of the Federal Government, arguing that continuity would help sustain the gains recorded so far.

Kefas, in his remarks, said the people of Taraba were already witnessing the impact of the Tinubu administration through projects being implemented in the state.

“Taraba is ready. You don’t need to tell the people of Taraba State what the President is doing; they are seeing what the President is doing through me,” the governor said.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda and pledged massive support for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

“I want to assure you that we are going to turn out en masse and give the President 100 percent votes. We are ready for Mr. President,” Kefas said.

The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, said the group was in Taraba to extend its mobilisation efforts and canvass support for Tinubu and the state governor.

The event also featured the donation of 25 campaign vehicles, generators and electronic speakers to support the movement’s grassroots mobilisation activities.
