The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has commenced the distribution of 600,000 bags of fertiliser to its supporters across the 20 Local Government Areas as part of efforts to strengthen support for the party while boosting agricultural production.
Flagging off the exercise at the APC Next Level Secretariat in Bauchi on Tuesday, the party’s 2027 governorship candidate, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN), said the initiative was designed to assist APC members engaged in farming during the current planting season.
The former governor said the fertiliser was made available through the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar/Faruq Mustapha Campaign Organisation.
He explained that the commodity would be distributed across all the local government areas and wards in the state to ensure grassroots supporters benefited from the intervention.
Abubakar commended party loyalists for their continued support and praised members of the distribution committee for their commitment to ensuring the success of the exercise.
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, urged the committee to conduct the distribution transparently and ensure the fertiliser reached genuine beneficiaries across the state.
Dogara also advised recipients to utilise the fertiliser for farming instead of selling it for personal gain.
The APC State Chairman and chairmen of the party’s three senatorial districts described the initiative as a demonstration of the party’s commitment to the welfare of its members and expressed optimism about the party’s chances in future elections.
